It should be clear, enthusiastic straight to the point. Think of every caller as a pot of gold.

Most callers will give you all the information at the start of the call and there is nothing worse than a caller having to keep repeating themselves!

This is the main difference between you and an automated system and it is vital that you use it to your advantage. The best way to achieve this is to not just read out a script, be prepared to go off script and engage the caller with small talk using your judgement if the caller wants it.

There is nothing worse than awkward silence and long pauses on calls. You can use vocab fillers whilst typing customer details or when you are searching and confirming caller details for example.
If you are transferring the caller to another person/department, it is important that you let the customer know exactly who they will be passed to, never blind transfer!

By doing this, it minimizes any mistakes and reassures the customer that their booking has been verbally confirmed. (Orion's Bespoke CRM system can automatically send customer confirmation over SMS or email and can send gentle reminders up until the appointment).
If the call is intended for another colleague or department, it's always worth confirming any messages to be passed, so there is no case of miscommunication. This way, when the intended person calls the customer back, they avoid repetition and can potentially solve the issue or enquiry before the callback.

The caller should never feel hurried off of the call, always make sure that their every need has been resolved before terminating the call.
